PVS-14 + HEAT BRIDGE
Bridging a thermal monocular to a PVS-14. The two screws, the Standard procedure, the PRO procedure and its O-ring fix, onto the helmet, troubleshooting and care.

The screw you need is already in your box
The screw taped to your HEAT bridge is not the screw that holds a PVS-14. The one you need is fitted to the GoPro style helmet mount that came in the kit, and section 03 is nothing but taking it off that mount. Nothing extra has to be ordered.
Two screws are in play and they are not interchangeable. Thin shaft for the HEAT, thick shaft for every PVS-14. Fitting the wrong one is the single most common reason a PVS-14 will not go onto a HEAT bridge. Never force a screw that resists on the first turn.
PVS-14 PRO owners, one extra step
First wave PRO units shipped with a receiver thread that differs from the milspec standard the PVS-14 Standard uses. On those units the universal screw does not draw the device tight against the rail on its own, and the rubber O-ring off the helmet mount goes in as a shim. Section 05 walks it through.
This has since been corrected. PRO units built after the first wave use the same thread as everything else and need no shim at all. If the screw already pulls your PRO tight against the rail with no gap, you have a later unit and section 04 is your section.
The assembly mounts as one unit
Once both devices are on the rail, the finished bridge goes onto the helmet through the single dovetail connector at the top centre of the rail. The two monoculars do not each attach to the helmet.
