We're new in this tier.
Here's why that's not a problem.
We've been the civilian-direct play for digital night vision since 2023 — 17,000+ orders shipped, 5,000+ verified reviews. The PVS-31 PRO is our second analog product after the PVS-14. Same direct-supply-chain economics, same brand-new tubes, same per-tube factory QC spec sheet in the box. Here's the basis for trusting us on a $3,799.95 purchase.
Civilian-direct, no dealer markup. The closest comparable Gen 2+ dual-tube binocular — AGM NVG-50 NW1 — is $6,195. Same tube tier, $2,395 gap.
Every PVS-31 PRO ships with a printed factory QC spec sheet documenting both tubes' measured FOM, SNR, resolution, and zero-blem certification. Most dual-tube PVS-31 builders at any price tier do not publish per-tube measured values.
Gen 2+ autogated, white phosphor P45, 1400+ FOM baseline. Brand new tubes — no refurbs, no resold glass. If those numbers don't match your use case, this isn't the right tier for you. We'd rather you know up front.
If the unit isn't what we said it is, send it back inside 14 days. Defective unit: full refund or replacement. Personal-preference return: 30% restocking fee. The full policy is in the FAQ. We tell you the restocking-fee number up front so it doesn't surprise you later.
Night Operators PVS-31 PRO vs
the dual-tube binocular market.
Dual-tube binoculars range from $3,500 budget Gen 2+ builds to $15,000+ milspec Gen 3. Same form factor, wildly different supply chains. Here's how the tiers compare — housing, view, and price — and where 50° FOV per tube actually shows up.
Prices based on public retailer listings checked June 2026. Specs and pricing vary by tube grade, FOM, and availability.

Premium dual-tube binos cost $6K–$14K+. Night Operators gets you into a real 50° FOV Gen 2+ autogated dual-tube binocular for $3,799.95.
Competitor prices verified June 2026 from official retailer listings — TNVC, AGM Global Vision, Argus NVS, NightVision4Less, Steele Industries, OpticsPlanet, B&H Photo. The Night Operators PVS-31 PRO is the only Gen 2+ dual-tube binocular at this price tier shipping with the 50° per-tube FOV, autogated tubes, manual gain, helmet mount AND battery pack in the box.
You're the buyer who already knew the analog tube market was overcharging. You did the homework. You compared the dealer prices. You saw what AGM and ATN charge for entry-tier units and what TNVC and L3Harris charge for the real thing. You knew the spec sheet didn't justify the gap. We built this for you.
What the dealer markup
actually pays for.
AGM NVG-50 NW1 at $6,195 is the closest comparable product. We sell ours at $3,799.95. That's a $2,395 gap on functionally similar Gen 2+ autogated white phosphor binoculars with 50° FOV. Same tube tier. Same optical assembly. Same form factor. Different supply chain. Here's where the $2,395 actually goes.

Same tube tier. Same Gen 2+ autogated glass. Same 50° optical assembly. Same form factor. Different supply chain, different price. Direct-supply-chain economics is the entire game.
Gen 2+ vs Gen 3 —
same words, different tubes.
Both look like night vision in a marketing photo. They're not the same thing. Gen 3 autogated white phosphor is the federal / LEO tier. Gen 2+ autogated is the mature consumer tier. Here's the actual delineation.

- • $3,000–$6,000 per-tube cost
- • 1400–2100 FOM range
- • White phosphor (P45)
- • Mature consumer tier
- • What we ship in the PVS-31 PRO

- • $9,000–$13,000 per-tube cost
- • 2200+ FOM range
- • Unfilmed or thin-filmed white phosphor
- • Federal / LEO tier
- • What L3Harris and Elbit ship in the AN/PVS-31A and PVS-31D
If you need Gen 3 autogated for zero-ambient-light professional work, look at L3Harris or Elbit at $13,000+. We don't compete in that tier. If Gen 2+ autogated with the 50° FOV advantage at $3,799.95 is the spec match for civilian operator, training, hunting, milsim, and prep use cases — that's exactly what we built.
Why only one other company
offers 50° FOV in a civilian PVS-31.
The 50° per-tube field of view is mechanically a Gen 3 PVS-31 spec at L3Harris and Elbit — except L3Harris and Elbit don't actually offer it. Their AN/PVS-31A and PVS-31D ship at 40°. The only mainstream civilian PVS-31 binocular shipping with a ≥50° per-tube FOV in the US 2026 market is the AGM NVG-50 line at $5,295–$6,195.
That's it. AGM and us.
We deliver 50° on a Gen 2+ autogated tube platform at $3,799.95 because the cost of the expanded FOV optical assembly is independent of tube generation. The L3Harris/Elbit Gen 3 builders treat 50° as a "why bother" feature for the federal market. AGM treats it as a premium consumer feature at $6,195. We treat it as the baseline spec for a civilian operator binocular at $3,799.95.
That's the gap. Everyone at every other tier — Steele DTNVS, Argus PVS-31, Bering Optics, NVD BNVD — ships 40°. If you want the 50° per-tube advantage outside of AGM, this is the product.
Why dual-tube binocular
is the standard for helmet-mounted ops.
Single-tube monoculars (like our PVS-14) are the right call for handheld observation, entry-tier helmet use, and budget-conscious analog buyers.
Dual-tube binoculars are the right call when you need:
- →Depth perception in close-quarter environments
- →Peripheral vision for threat awareness
- →Reduced eye fatigue on extended helmet-mounted operations
- →Both eyes under glass for natural scanning
The PVS-31 form factor is the standard for training events, advanced night navigation courses, and property-awareness use at the operator tier. The 50° per-tube FOV on the PVS-31 PRO gives you 10° more peripheral vision per eye than the 40° standard PVS-31 builds.
If you already own a PVS-14 monocular for handheld use, the PVS-31 PRO is the helmet-side dual-tube upgrade. Same direct-supply-chain pricing logic.

What dual-tube buyers use the
Night Operators PVS-31 PRO for.
Four common setups. Pick the one that matches what you're building.

Helmet shroud, L4G24 bracket, AA×4 battery pack, standard PVS-31 form factor. Same setup tier-one training schools (Direct Action Resources, Sentinel, Magpul Dynamics dark courses) recommend or require for the night curriculum. Walk into class with a complete kit.

Ground and air-crew SAR teams operating at night rely on dual-tube depth perception for moving through unfamiliar terrain, locating subjects in wooded or open country, and coordinating with spotters. The 50° per-tube FOV widens your scan envelope so you cover more ground with less head movement during long callouts. Note: not rated or intended for piloting aircraft under any circumstance — passenger / observer use only in any aircraft.

Single-tube monocular is workable in open environments. Inside hallways, doorways, vehicle interiors — peripheral vision and depth perception matter. Dual-tube is the standard at the operator tier.

Long stationary hunts amplify single-tube eye fatigue. Dual-tube changes the math. The 50° per-tube FOV combined with the built-in 930nm IR illuminator makes tracking moving targets faster and less tiring than scanning with a monocular.
Already own our PVS-14?
Here's when the PVS-31 PRO makes sense.
Honest disqualification.
This product isn't for everyone. Here's when you shouldn't buy:
→You need Gen 3 performance. We don't sell Gen 3. If your use case is professional / LEO / federal-tier work in zero-ambient-light conditions, look at the L3Harris AN/PVS-31A or Elbit PVS-31D at $11,000–$14,000. Different tier, different buyer.
→You need a handheld-only setup. The PVS-31 PRO is helmet-only via the L4G24 bridge mount. For a handheld analog night vision unit that also bridges with Heat thermal, our PVS-14 monocular at $1,749.95 base is the right purchase.
→You need a specific tube brand. We ship Gen 2+ autogated tubes. If you specifically want L3Harris or Elbit-branded tubes, we don't carry them at this tier.
→You need an ITAR-export-controlled federal variant. Our build is civilian-spec. Federal procurement requires different sourcing.
If none of these apply and Gen 2+ autogated at 1400–2100 FOM with 50° per-tube FOV is the spec match for your civilian operator, training, hunting, or prep use case — that's exactly what we built.
Compare Gen 2+ With Gen 3 →PVS-31 PRO.
Plain enough.
Real Gen 2+ autogated tubes. 50° per-tube FOV. Manual gain. White phosphor (P45). Per-tube QC spec sheet included. L4G24 helmet mount AND AA×4 battery pack included in the box. Pick your FOM tier — add the optional helmet if you need it.
The dual-tube upgrade. Both eyes under glass — depth perception, peripheral vision, reduced fatigue. The analog binocular tier without the $10K L3Harris/Elbit ask.
Mid-tier performance. Sharper edge-to-edge clarity. Recommended for most operators.
- Brand new Gen 2+ autogated dual tubes. 1400+ FOM baseline. Per-tube QC spec sheet included with every unit.
- 50° per-tube FOV — outside AGM, the only mainstream civilian PVS-31 binocular shipping with this expanded field. L3Harris and Elbit Gen 3 builds at $11K–$14K only deliver 40°.
- L4G24-pattern helmet mount AND AA×4 helmet battery pack in the box. $500+ industry add-on, included in our kit.
- Standard PVS-31 form factor — drops into Wilcox G24, Norotos, and Ops-Core helmet shrouds.
- US orders ship with no extra fees at delivery. International orders (e.g. Canada) may incur import duties or customs fees charged by the destination country.

The full spec sheet.
Nothing hidden.
Every Night Operators PVS-31 PRO ships with a printed factory QC spec sheet documenting the exact measured values for the tubes in your specific unit. Most dual-tube PVS-31 builders at any price tier do not publish per-tube measured values. The sample shown here measured 1541 FOM at the baseline tier, SNR 24.07, resolution 64 lp/mm, photocathode sensitivity 571 μA/lm @ 2850K, luminance gain 8,083 cd/m²/lx, useful cathode diameter 17.5mm, zero dark spots, 10,000-hour MTBF. Your unit's sheet documents your unit's tubes — not a generic stock spec sheet.
Every Night Operators PVS-31 PRO ships with per-tube factory QC sheets documenting both tubes' measured FOM, SNR, resolution, and zero-blem certification. Not stock specs — your unit's specs.

Actual through-the-tube view of a standard resolution chart, captured in our lab — proof of measured lp/mm performance, not a stock render.

— The Night Operators Team
Why your PVS-31 PRO takes 2–4 weeks.
We hold less inventory than dealer-channel brands by design. That's part of the cost savings model. Each PVS-31 PRO is bench-tested and inspected by a human before it ships. Dual-tube builds take slightly longer than single-tube — adjust the window.
Standard window: 2–4 weeks from order. In-stock units ship within one week when available. US orders have no extra fees at delivery. International orders (e.g. Canada) may incur import duties or customs fees charged by the destination country.
Questions buyers ask before
ordering the Night Operators PVS-31 PRO.

Yes. Two real Gen 2+ analog image intensifier tubes, autogated, white phosphor (P45), 1400–1550 FOM at baseline with optional upgrades to 1600–1800 FOM (+$650) and 2000–2100 FOM (+$1,600). Same tube tier as the AGM NVG-50 NW1 and Argus PVS-31 builds. Brand new tubes, not refurbished.
50° per tube (±2°). Standard PVS-31 builds ship with 40° per tube. The 50° per-tube FOV outside our product is only found on the AGM NVG-50 line — even L3Harris AN/PVS-31A and Elbit PVS-31D at $11K–$14K only deliver 40°. The 10° advantage per eye matters in close-quarter and indoor environments.
Yes. AA×4 battery pack with connection cable in the box. This is typically a $300–$465 industry add-on on competing builds (TNVC Mohawk MK2 retails at $465). Nobody at this tier includes it in box.
Different tube tier, different buyer. The L3Harris AN/PVS-31A is Gen 3 unfilmed white phosphor at 2376+ FOM, 40° per-tube FOV, priced at $13,999 from authorized dealers. It's the federal/LEO premium tier. The PVS-31 PRO is Gen 2+ autogated at 1400–2100 FOM, 50° per-tube FOV, priced at $3,799.95–$5,399.95 civilian-direct. If you need Gen 3 autogated for zero-ambient professional work, the PVS-31A is the right purchase. If Gen 2+ autogated with the FOV advantage at a fraction of the price is the spec match, the PVS-31 PRO is the build.
Yes. The brightness gain is operator-controlled (manual), not auto-gain. Manual gain gives you control in mixed-lighting scenarios where auto-gain throttles too aggressively.
Yes. Standard PVS-31 form factor. The included L4G24-pattern helmet bracket drops into Wilcox G24, Norotos, and Ops-Core MICH/ACH helmet shrouds. Pattern-compatible, not Wilcox-branded.
2–4 weeks standard analog hardware build window. In-stock units ship within a week when available. US orders have no extra fees at delivery. International orders (e.g. Canada) may incur import duties or customs fees charged by the destination country.
